The Savart Journal is an open access online journal featuring peer reviewed research articles on all aspects of the science and technology of stringed musical instruments. All articles published in the journal are fully indexed by Google and other search engines. Article abstracts and other metadata are also indexed by WorldCat, Google Scholar and other metadata indexes. This means your article published here will be accessible to the widest possible audience.
We offer fast and high quality peer review. Editorial review of your submission typically takes two days, and we generally perform a full peer review cycle in less than two weeks.
Since articles in the journal are published as they are accepted (we do not wait to collect them into an issue) the time from article acceptance to publication is typically measured in hours. The total time from article submission to publication can be as short as two weeks.
Hosting and archiving of the journal is provided by the Guild of American Luthiers, a stable and long lived nonprofit educational membership organization. Your article published in the journal will remain available online continuously.
Interested in submitting to the journal? We recommend that you review the About the Journal page for the journal's section policies, as well as the Author Guidelines. Submissions to the journal can be made via email to the editor from the Contact page.
Please note that the journal serves a narrow research niche and as such the number of articles we receive and publish is relatively small. We are ready to receive and process your article submission.
